Meet The Landlady Nancy Gibbon
A warm welcome greets you from Nancy, the proprietor and landlady of The Wheelhouse.
The Wheelhouse dates back to the 12th century, and the business model for The Wheelhouse has changed little in the centuries; serving fine and hard to source ales from a range of breweries, both independent and chains, and bottled beers, spirits and mixers to drinkers who come from across Suffolk.
Nancy bought the pub to share her love of fine ales with the local community, and serves a range of traditional beers, including real ales and ciders from local and nationally recognised breweries.
Nancy always has a range of guest ales in stock and runs a traditional pub with a homely, welcome atmosphere that drinkers have grown to appreciate.
No arcade machines, no juke box, no disco music, just traditional drinks, traditional pub games like dominos and cards, water for the dogs and and a real fire to sit by.
And of course Nancy’s knowledge of ales.
“It is my passion to offer a range of quality ales to drinkers, and to educate those who are just starting out”
At The Wheelhouse, we believe ale is a serious business, but it should be served in a relaxed environment and with a charm.
Why not stop by at the Wheelhouse to try our guest ales.
